Write a letter to editor of the newspaper for claiming prize which they acknowledged. In your letter, you should say: Details of how you won the prize What the prize you are going to get What actions you expect to be taken

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Ben Jhonson and I am one of the participants who have won a competition held by your newspaper. I am writing to enlighten that I have not received my winning amount yet.

In 1st March, 2020’s paper, you have come up with an initiative named “Follow Traffic Rules” to create awareness among people under which a Poetry Contest was held. The verse of three contestants was to be published in the Sunday’s special edition along with a prize of Rs. 10,000 for each. Fortunately, I won the competition and was thrilled to see my poem acquiring space in your pages.

To my utter surprise, you have not mentioned anywhere the details of how to claim the prize. Moreover, there have not been any initiate such as a mail or a call from your end to inform about the selection. Kindly let me know how, when and where will I be able to get hold of my prize money.
I hope you will respond to my query at the earliest and thank you for considering my verse suitable enough to be printed.

Yours Faithfully,
Ben Jhonson

It is better for young people to get the advice from old people than young ones. Do you agree or disagree?

Everyone, during the significant junctures of life, needs an opinion. It is said that elders are the perfect source from whom one can expect the best suggestion rather than youngsters. I strongly agree with the given statement and the ensuing paragraphs will highlight arguments that support my stance.

The major reason for putting aged in the frontline of seeking advice is the abundance of experience they hold. Undoubtedly, elderly people have seen more life and have faced more challenges from which they have either learned, failed or won. Thus, they can guide in a better way so that the coming generation doesn’t repeat the mistakes they have committed.

Another explanation can be the composed nature of the old people and their ability to take decision after adequate brooding. Needless to say, the youth of today wants everything much quicker and so in haste, they are not able to guide perfectly. Whereas, elders have patience and intellect; they take important steps after looking at its pros and cons in detail. For instance, most youth fails to select a suitable marriage partner for them and end up getting divorce later. On the other hand, those who follow the instructions of their parents in this matter have more chances of sustainable married life.

Still there are people who disagree with the statement in hand and argue that elderly are not competent enough to give advice in certain matters such as technology. When it comes to buying, repairing or updating a gadget, youngsters can suggest better.

After explaining my opinion, I would re-state that if young ones look upon to their elders for acquiring suggestions, there are more likely to succeed in contrast to their age group.

A foreign friend of yours plans to visit your place and stay with you, but you do not have time on that date. Give your friend another alternate date to come. In your letter, you should: • apology for it • explain why you will be busy on that date • suggest to him/her a alternate time to come.

Dear Martha,

I hope this letter finds you in the pinkest of your health. I was extremely thrilled to know that you are planning to visit India on 29th March, 2020 through your letter, yesterday.  However, I regret to inform you that during your expected duration of arrival, I won’t be able to spare much time for you.

As you know, I am working at an Accounting firm and the month of March is the most crucial and hectic for those who are into it. To adjust and prepare the Income Tax Return files of the clients, we have to run round the clock and work overtime. As a result, it would be tough to spend qualitative time with you.

Anyways, most of the work will get accomplished by the first week of April and the employees at our company are also allocated vacation of a week as a compensation for a tiring financial month.  Thus, I urge you to postpone your visit a bit so that we can stay together and make the full out of our holidays.

I am sure, you will do as I suggested. Eagerly awaiting your arrival.

Yours lovingly,
Khushboo Gulrajani

In some countries in Europe, some children from the age of 11 or 13 go to schools to learn more practical skills that will help them get a job. Other children stay in schools which provide a more general academic education. What should schools do to prepare students for the world of work? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your own knowledge or experiences.

How and what methods should be used to feed the minds of young learners has been a matter of research and discussion for many. This, for years, has given rise to an unceasing debate of choosing between practical and theoretical knowledge, especially when some European nations have begun imparting practical expertise to the students before or at the time of entering into their teenage. The arguments exploring both the aspects and my view are discussed in the ensuing paragraphs.

A child at a tender age grasps teaching easily if accompanied with a realistic approach. Scientific findings, textbooks and personal experiences evidence that a picture or a real apple shown to a child makes him learn A for Apple in a better way than just repeating the word. It also stays in the memory for a longer time compared to what is just read.  On the same hand, some complex theories or working of an instrument or gadget by default needs a firsthand experience. For instance, operating a computer demands using it and not just knowing how it functions through books or manual.

However, with a vague knowledge of a topic, putting it into practice can turn out to be dangerous. More, when it is done at a comparatively younger age. An eleven year student is not much mature to undertake experiments of Chemistry and Biology as he or she lacks the basic understanding of the subject; its safety, use and precautions. As a result, recruiting such immature pupil proves to be a risk at job.

To cap it all, I believe that both the approaches of teaching have their own benefits and should be provided keeping in mind not only the easiness of getting a work in the future but also the age and the level of a child.
